Northwood Framing was born as a direct result of the Covid pandemic of 2020.  Matt had been a tattoo artist for many years but also a painter and frame maker.  During the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, Matt was unable to tattoo for months so he spent more time painting and making frames for other artists and collectors.  The frame making quickly grew to the point where, when lockdown eventually finished, he had outgrown his workshop at home and moved into a recently renovated unit at Rosemains Steading in Midlothian, Scotland.
